Humanitarian Cargo and Pax: South Sudan

South Sudan Movement of Humanitarian Cargo and Pax on UNHAS and UNMIS Flights and SpecialFlight Requests-UNMIS

UNHAS


Agencies and NGOs working in South Sudan and registered with the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) and the Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), can request access to UNHAS and UNMIS air assets for the movement of Humanitarian Cargo and Pax. 

Approval for the use of UNHAS flights is done through the office of the Deputy Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator (DRHC) Mr. David Gressly  dgressly@unicef.org. This can be requested for by email with a copy to Jean Francois Darcq jdarcq@unicef.org.


On approval by DHC, process of opening a TAF account with UNHAS will proceed in accordance with procedures as detailed by WFP Finance section.

1. Bookings must be made 72 hours prior to date of flight.


2. Cancellations are not accepted less than 24 hours prior to the flight.


3. Only bookings made on the official UNHAS booking form (for cargo and passengers) will be accepted and processed.  Booking forms must be stamped with official agency stamp. Only correctly completed forms can be scanned and emailed for booking purposes.  Focal points are requested to ensure acknowledgement of emailed booking requests. 


4. Bookings can only be made by the authorised “Focal Point.”  UNHAS must be supplied with proof of the authorised “Focal Point” on the required form.


5. Booking Office hours are:


Monday to Friday 09:00 - 12:00 and 14:30 - 15:45


6. Booking confirmation can be confirmed by contacting the booking office or by checking on the Flight Manifest displayed the day prior to date of flight on the UNHAS notice board in the WFP compound.


7. Check-in for flights closes I hour prior to scheduled departure time.  


8. When making bookings, “Focal Points” are to ensure that passengers meet all necessary requirements for travel.  Proof of agency identification is required for check in and boarding purposes.


9. Bookings can be submitted to loki.flightbookings@wfp.org or wfphas.juba@wfp.org.

To Request Access to UNMIS Cargo Service (free to user and space available basis), please complete the following form and submit to  MOVCON Juba no later than 72 h (3 working days) before the intended day of movement.

In all cases of Pax movement, Security Clearance from UNDSS and a handheld VHF radioset is required.
