Road Accessability Report ex. Kismanyo

There are two main roads that can be used for transportation of logistic /Relief from Kismanyo Port City to Gedo and Other region.

First Route

From Kismanyo via Jilib to Bu'ale to Dinsor from Dinsor to Baidioa.

At Baidioa there are 3 three major road that can be used as transport routes to Bakol and Gedo .from Baidioa the first right turn heads to Wajid,Region Bokol .the second left turn heads to Burdhubo region gedo while the straight road from Baidioa straight to Luuq town Region Gedo.

Estimate -500kms from Kismanyo to Luuq,

There are road blocks in every town.

Second Route

From Kismanyo to Dobley from Dobley to Elwak gedo the Kenyan border with Somalia .the road from Dobley runs along the border with Kenya up to Elwak which is near the Kenyan border .there are also roadblocks along this route but this route is shorter .Estimate-300 Kames.

These Routes are passable but is a rough route.

Third Route

There is also a third route though not in use. This temporary route was constructed by Petroleum's exploring oil in Somalia. The route might be unreliable but can be used as alternative route when need arises.

Trucks Hiring

Transport companies in Kismanyo can be contracted to transport the logistic commodities from Kismanyo to Gedo at a lesser cost and also user time.

Transport companies are involved in cross-border transport from Mombassa to regions inside Somalia. This will mean more cost and more time but they can be contracted to shift their trucks to Kismanyo to transport the same to Gedo and other regions. These are reliable since they have been doing cross-border transportation for NGOs (WFP, CARE)
