Logistics updates as of 13th February 2008

Road Conditions Updates:

  • In general no rains were reported during the past week and all roads remained accessible.
  • No incident was reported in regard to food aid movement this week.
  • A UN WFP convoy of 15 trucks from port town of Merka to Garboharey warehouse were released after six hours of delay in Dinsor town check point by TFG soldiers. The soldiers were demanding passage fees.
  • The loading of 600 MT for IDPs in Dinsor from Wajid was halted until further improvements due to current conflict in the area between TFG and its opponents.


Port movements:

  • MV Victoria (4,300 MT) has sailed from Mombasa port to Mogadishu on 07/08 and ETA will be on 10/02/2008.

UNHAS Cargo/Pax flights :

For the benefit of clarification kindly note the following notes:

  • To benefit from UNHAS subsidized flights the Users [Agencies and Organizations], need to sign the MoU with UNHAS. If your Organization requests to sign the MoU, kindly reply to this message.
  • The UNHAS subsidized flights are only applicable if the fare is higher than 600 USD and the subsidies are only of 600 USD per flight. The cargo flights are not subsidies.
