United Nations Common Air Services (UNCAS)

The United Nations Common Air Services (UNCAS) flies in and out of Somalia as a joint operation catering for UN and partner NGO staff.

At present WFP has chartered Passenger / Light Cargo aircraft which are under UNCAS management control to provide air transport to the eligible Humanitarian Organizations in Somalia. The service is provided on a cost recovery basis. The UNCAS member agencies will serve as focal point for backstopping aircraft operations.  The locations and the agencies which will serve as focal points are as follows:

WFP/UNDP: Bosaso                      
UNICEF: Kismayo, Mogadischo              
Operator: Hargeisa 
Operator: Nairobi
