PROCEDURES AND FORMS
The United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) managed by the World Food Programme (WFP) is the common air service that the United Nations system deploys to cope with humanitarian emergencies. The Government of the Philippines has asked WFP, through the National Disaster Coordination Council (NDCC), to deploy three helicopters to support the emergency response. The helicopters will be performing assessment missions, delivery of relief goods and transport of relief workers to and from inaccessible areas.
- UNHAS has established a helicopter operation to support the Philippines government and the humanitarian community in the delivery of muchneeded relief goods to areas which are cut off or hard to access. Find more info in the Helicopter Operations Snapshot and in the Air Transport section
