Highlights

  • Up-to-date, 35 Humanitarian Hubs within host communities have been established, as well as 10 distribution points within camps in Abbotabad,Bajaur, Charsadda (not operational yet), Kohat, Malakand, Manshera, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Swabi
  • Activity at the hubs was halted between 5 and 9 June due to ongoing registration verifications. A further one day delay was taken due to security considerations in Peshawar after the bombing of the Pearl Continental Hotel.
  • The Pir Piai Humanitarian Logistics base is available for use by the Humanitarian community. Located 22km east of Peshawar, the base provides adequate capacity to receive, consolidate, store and dispatch humanitarian cargo (up to 60,000 mt).
  • The Logistics Cluster is participating in a multi-cluster mission to Bhakkar, to assess the situation and to identify potential gaps for any returnees or additional IDPs from Waziristan. The team departed on 29 June and will return on 2 July 09.
  • Logistics Cluster meetings take place on a weekly basis in Islamabad. Participants include ACF, ARC, CARE, Concern, Crown Agent USA, CRS, DFID, Diakonie, Handicap Int’l, IFRC, ILAP, IOM, IRD, Islamic Relief, MapAction, Mercy Corps, Merlin, MSB (SRSA), MSF, OCHA, OXFAM, Samaritan’s Purse, Save the Children, UN-Habitat, UNHCR, UNICEF, USAID, WFP, WV.
