The eighth humanitarian relief convoy (Convoy 08) successfully delivered 871MT of mixed commodities and 2 trucks of UNHCR NFRI into the Vanni region.
Convoy 08 departed on Monday 22nd December at 08:32 am and returned to the Inter Logistics Hub on Wednesday 23rd December at 18:05 pm.
Due to flooding of the road crossing at Theravilkulam the convoy did not reach Tharmapuram. This resulted in a change of plan and the offloading took place in PTK.
Ensuring the safe passage of the convoy is a crucial condition for a successful delivery assistance. Security issues are a top priority and should be addressed at all levels.
