1. HIGHLIGHTS

  • Logistics Cluster meeting was held today in Bangkok.
  • The Yangon Logistics Cluster meeting is scheduled for tomorrow 27th  May at 14.00 hours

2.  CLUSTER ACTIVITIES UPDATES:

Cluster Movement in Yangon from 20 to 25 May:

3.  AIR OPERATIONS:

Today the following fight came into Yangon :

4. WATER TRANSPORT:

  • A barge will be loading tomorrow in Yangon for Labutta with NFIs for MERLIN, biscuits for WFP and logistics support equipment for the Logistics Cluster.

5. ROAD TRANSPORT:

  • Bridges  on the road to Labutta are reported to be in bad conditions an passable only for max 12 tons trucks

6. LOGISTICS HUBS:

Please see below updates on the actual situation of the Logistics Hub set up for the operation:

Mawlanyaingyun: location identified
Labutta:  4X MSUs in place and 3 more at location
Pathein: location identified and under negotiation
Pyapon: 2xMSUs up, 150 pallets received
Bogalay:  2xMSUs up (1xMSU dedicated to UNICEF) 3 XMSU will be erected by the 28th May and operational as of 30th, 150 pallets received.

7. NEXT LOGISTICS CLUSTER MEETING:

  • The next meeting of the Bangkok Logistics Cluster will be held Thursday 29th     May 2008 at 1100 hrs.
  • The next meeting of the Yangon Logistics Cluster will be held TOMORROW Tuesday 27th May 2008 at 1400 hrs.
