Logistics Consolidated Situation Report - 14th July 2008

Highlights:

1. Air Operations

  • Total Flights ex DMK (24th May - 14th July): 149
  • As of today (July 14th) the Logistics Cluster will no longer be able to accept cargo delivered to DMK in Bangkok, and no further Cargo Movement Requests (CMR) will be accepted for cargo movement either by air or by sea. (...)
  • Sea transport is being organized on several vessels from Bangkok to Yangon for all cargo currently awaiting transport which cannot be moved by air. (...)
  • Arrivals on July 14th and plans for tomorrow July 15th.

Helicopter Operation

  • One helicopter has now been dedicated to passenger flights only (...)
  • Total number of locations reached up to the 14th of July: 102
  • Total rotations: 646
  • Plans for July 15th

2. Cluster Operations Update

  • The Logistics Cluster is compiling official guidelines on applying for an FOC (Free of Charge) permit, which all organizations will need in order to bring humanitarian cargo into Myanmar once the Logistics Cluster ends operations (...)
  • CARE has also provided documents on registration which were attached to Friday's Logistics Cluster meeting minutes and are posted on the Logs Cluster website.
  • CESVI has 100 x Sanitary Platforms, 100 x Spades and 100 x Pickaxes available as a donation in kind. (...)
3. Roads and Waterways

  • The road from Yangon to Bogale now takes 5.15 hours to drive, and the Pyapon-Bogale section is expected to further deteriorate. Cargo to this area may soon have to be moved mostly by waterways.
4. HUBS Update

  • Existing warehouse facilities in the hubs will remain at the disposal of their organizations indefinitely after the Logs Cluster ends operations on August 10th. (...)
  • Training sessions on basic warehouse management and MSU erection will be held for staff in the Delta. (...)
  • Rehabilitation work for the MSUs in Pyapon are ongoing. (...)
  • Drainage rehabilitation is also ongoing. (...)
  • Recipients of the 21 MSUs the Cluster had to loan to organizations staying in country have been notified, and a list is posted. (...)
