Passenger booking procedures in Myanmar

The UN WFP chartered helicopters have as primary tasks the transportation of cargo as per the communicated priorities. However, when possible passengers are accommodated on these flights, and one helicopter per day is now dedicated to passenger transport. Within those, priority will always be given to passengers who are accompanying cargo for distribution and monitoring.
Organizations are requested to note that the focal point list must be signed and forwarded to WFP aviation before any passengers requests are made, and the procedures must also be signed/stamped and submitted. The e-tickets received upon flight confirmation should be presented upon check-in for the flight. Passenger reporting time is 07:00 at MIA counter of the domestic terminal at Yangon airport. Passenger requests must be made before 12:00 the day before the flight, however due to high demand advance booking is recommended.

All Passenger Movement Requests must be signed off by each organization or agency authorizing officer and include the organization or agency stamp.

The reporting time for passengers taking the helicopter from Yangon is now 7:00 am, with final check-in time by 7:30 am.
The MAI counter is located in the Domestic Terminal.
Myanmar Airways International ground handling staff will further process all passengers to the helicopters.
Passengers requesting to travel must have a valid identity card from their respective organization to be authorized to book and travel on board of the helicopters.
For eligible NGO’s, UN agencies and donor staff, seat allocation will be done on a “first come, first served” basis, however, priority will always be given to cargo accompanying passengers.
Deadline for submitting Passenger Booking Requests is 12:00 Hrs the day prior to the requested flight.
Passengers have to request booking confirmation the day prior to the flight between 14:00 Hrs and 16:00 Hrs and receive confirmation of the booking. This is required as the primary tasks of the helicopter is the transportation of cargo and the cargo flight schedule is only finalized during the morning prior to the day of the flights.
All passengers are responsible for their clearance / security clearance and are to travel with valid travel documents.
Passengers are authorized to travel only with 20 Kgs of luggage. Excess luggage can be transported, and unless specifically authorized by WFP Aviation, must be booked as cargo following the CMR procedures and guidelines.

Passenger check-in at Yangon for all helicopter flights is done at:Yangon Airport, Domestic Terminal, MAI (Myanmar Airways International) counter.
