Context of the training project:

As the Nepal Logistics Cluster operation’s exit strategy takes shape, WFP, through trainings and other tools that can ensure an effective use of resources, caters for needs to embrace a well-structured phase-out plan: The Emergency Preparedness and Response Special Operation. The project aims at maximizing logistics operations, retaining expertise and ensuring financial sustainability. The featured Dismantling and Assembling of Logistics Humanitarian Platforms training delivered by the UN Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) was undertaken in response to this identified need, to ensure rapidly deployable storage capacity in the future.

The four temporary storage units donated by WFP and set up by the Logistics Cluster, will augment the government’s existing capacity, as well as complement its ongoing cyclone-response efforts.
